Summer Programs |

Clover Valley offers summer programs for young people interested in learning more about horsemanship and riding. We have one-day programs for young children interested in learning about horses, and 4-day horsemanship/riding programs for beginners through advanced.
ONE -DAY PROGRAMS:
YOUNG HORSE LOVERS PROGRAM: These are one-day programs designed for the young horse lover! Suggested ages 5-9. Participants will learn about grooming, breeds, colors, and tack. They will do a horse-related craft, go on a pony ride, and have their picture taken with Zoe, our miniature horse! Participants may sign up for any or all of the dates. Participation is limited. Please email for the registration form for this program All dates run from 10am-1pm. $65 per child per day. Participants must register and pre-pay to attend. 4-DAY SUMMER PROGRAMS:
SUMMER HORSEMANSHIP/RIDING PROGRAMS: The programs include activities designed to learn horsemanship skills, including horse care and grooming, cleaning, feeding, and basic health care. Participants will have one mounted riding lesson per day in addition to the ground activities.
All programs run Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. You may use a school horse, or if your horse is boarded here you may use your own. If it is feasible to transport your horse here for the program, this is a possibility; however, please discuss this with the barn manager before considering this option. See the descriptions below. $350 per week, $325 if you use your own horse. Deposits due by June 1. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
BEGINNER PROGRAMS: Participants are new to horseback riding, or have ridden some but are still working at the walk and trot. Suggested ages 8-12. Participants may sign up for one or both programs. Dates: July 14-17 and July 28-31, 2008
INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM: Designed for students comfortable at the walk and trot, working on beginning canter and perhaps crossrails. Suggested ages 10-14. If you’d like to sign up for the intermediate program and are not a current Clover Valley student, you will need to come take a trial lesson to ensure you will fit into this program. Dates: August 11-14, 2008
ADVANCED PROGRAM: For students comfortable at the walk, trot, and canter. This program will likely include challenging exercises and will include jumping where appropriate. This program also requires approval of instructor before enrolling. Suggested ages 13-18. Dates: August 25-28, 2008
