The shows are held on Monday evenings.
2010 Jumper Show Dates: Monday, June 21 (start time 4pm) Monday, July 12 (start time 4pm) Monday, July 26 (start time 4pm) Monday, August 9 (start time 4pm) Monday, August 23 (start time 4pm)
REGISTRATION:
Please fill out a Jumper Show registration form. We’ll keep your form and a Coggins dated within one year on file from the first show you enter. After that, you only have to come up to the registration booth and let us know which classes you’ d like to enter and pay, and we’ll give you a number. We will accept same day entries. It is VERY helpful to us if you call or email the day before (or a few days before) to let us know that you are coming and give us a count of how many horses. That helps us be ready and plan ahead, so that the show day moves faster. All classes are $10 per class.
NEW: All entries that are received by 5pm the day before each show date will be entered to win a drawing for one free entry fee for that show (worth $10). This means a completed registration form and Coggins if it is your first show with us, OR simply an email with the rider’s names and which classes entered if we already have a form on file for you. Payment can be made the day of the show.
SHOW FORMAT:
Ground poles start first at 4:00 pm, and then we move up to cross rails and higher fences beginning no earlier than 5:00pm. The class list progresses in order (ground poles, cross rails, 2’, etc). We may run past 5pm with ground poles, but you can plan on cross rails starting no earlier than 5pm.
The course is available for walking from 3:30 to 4pm, and then again for about 10 minutes in between ground poles and cross rails.
Courses are posted in the warm up area, by the trailers, and by the in-gate. Course A and B are different courses of the same height. Course A and B are the same for all heights. For example, Course A in cross rails is the same course as Course A in 2’. The ground poles course might be slightly different from the other heights.
All classes are in the same large, lit sand ring. Warm up is in a grass enclosed field.
Warm-ups are paid classes but are not judged. It is simply a chance for you to be in the ring and jump the jumps before your actual class.
Please be ready by the gate for your class. We cannot hold classes up.
JUDGING AND RIBBONS:
Once you enter the ring, the judge will ring a bell. You must then begin your course. If you complete the course clean (without knocking rails, crossing your path, going off course, or falling off), then you will be able to continue on to your jump-off, which is a shorter, timed course (usually 4-5 jumps). You may leave the arena after your clean round, and re-enter shortly after to ride your jump-off. The same standard faults apply. Ribbons are awarded in the order of the fastest times with the time faults added in.
In the event there are no clean rounds, ribbons will be awarded by course time. Ribbons are awarded for 1st through 6th place in each class. In addition, scores will be kept for season Champion and Reserve Champion in each division, with nice prizes given away at the end of the season.
Ground Poles: All seats are welcome in ground poles. Even Western riders can do ground poles! Attire is either jeans or britches, a neat, collared shirt, and proper helmet and boots. Please, no tank tops, but a collared sleeveless shirt is acceptable. Faults in the ground pole division include going off course, knocking a rail (if it changes the shape of the jump), and crossing your path (circling in front of a jump), or falling off. There is no warm up for ground poles.
1. Ground Poles Course A 2. Ground Poles Course B
Cross Rails and up: Attire is boots and britches, a proper, collared shirt (either a polo or show shirt or something similar, tucked in), and proper helmet. Jumping vests are optional. Sleeveless collared shirts are acceptable. No tank tops or spaghetti straps please!
Before cross rails, there will be a brief intermission during which you may walk the course. Warm-ups are immediately before each class height.
The show will progress in this order:
